OVERCOMERS, 1 John 5:5, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded by Sharon Y. Harley in 1998, initially as a personal mission to help homeless families and survivors of domestic violence. Established as a formal entity in 2015, the organization operates under the foundation of faith and the scripture 1 John 5:4-5, which speaks to the power of overcoming adversity through faith in God. Our mission is to provide safe, stable housing and comprehensive support services to individuals facing homelessness, domestic violence, and related adversities. We empower our residents to overcome their challenges and re-enter society as

History

OVERCOMERS was established in 1998 and formally organized in 2015 by Sharon Y. Harley, a compassionate leader who has spent decades committed to serving those in need. Her passion for helping others began in the 1990s when she provided shelter and support for homeless families and domestic violence survivors, realizing that true restoration requires more than temporary relief—it requires preparation for long-term success. This deep-seated commitment has driven the creation of OVERCOMERS as a haven for those seeking refuge and a path to recovery.
